Blogging Wars – WordPress Vs Blogger Part 1

Blogging to make money is a longterm strategy. The more consistently you blog over time, the more highly your blog will rank on the search engines. So why not start now?

The plus side of the dot ORG option is that you have total control. You can maintain your blog system yourself, back it up, download a copy for safekeeping and easily install any extras you want (plugins, themes etc) using FTP. You also benefit from it being called whatever you choose. You can migrate it from one host to another and keep the domain should the need arise.

Most Internet marketers agree that the search engines love blogs. They love fresh, original content. You might think it is hard to come up with original content, considering all the material that is written on the internet. But remember, what you have to say is fresh because you are expressing your thoughts in your words. This makes them fresh and original. Even though similar thoughts and ideas may have been expressed by hundreds of other, you have not expressed them.

VPS hosting is a reliable and more affordable way to host your web site, but will be much more expensive then the cheapest WordPress hosting out there. Some small and limited VPS accounts can be obtained for as little as a month. And due to the partitioned server or virtual spaces, you will have an enhanced level of security and server speed.

Website scripting isn’t necessary. The user interface is simple to use. There is also the possibility of managing the site remotely, albeit slightly more advanced.

These days, blogs look like websites. Actually, it is hard to tell the difference because so many websites are built on the wordpress platform. When you use WordPress you do need to learn some technical skills but this information is all over the Internet. You only need to Google for help and you will find it.

At times, simply emailing the owner, with a threat of filing a DMCA complaint with Google can do the job. Most of them would back out without further ado.

Having your own blog is also important because all of the emails you send out will direct the reader back to your blog. For example, if there is some kind of special offer or breaking news that is related to your business, you can make a blog post about it, then send out an email blast to your list letting them know about the news or special offer, and include a link back to your blog for more information. This is much better then just sending people to your company replicated website.
